A fully sharp image field, with distortion minimized, for these eyepieces that have been designed to be much smaller and lighter. They are aspheric and provide a brighter, more contrast-rich image than wide-angle eyepieces with spherical lenses, even more expensive ones.

The aspheric formula is 72 degrees, just a bit more than the field of view of the human eye (68°). This way, you can observe without having to turn your eyes, which increases observation comfort.
