The telescope's optics:
Ideal telescope from Skywatcher for daytime terrestrial observation as well as for deep sky astronomy. Skywatcher Startravel telescopes are two-element achromatic air-spaced refractors, perfect for wide-field observation of comets, star fields, star clusters, nebulae, bright galaxies, and planets, the Moon, and the Sun (with safe and suitable filters) as well as for nature observation during the day. However, this wide-field telescope, with its short tube, can also be used with a fixed aperture for astrophotography or terrestrial photography. Its fast focal ratio makes it ideal for photographing the moon and solar eclipses as well as for nature photography.
The telescope's mount:
The Sky-Watcher Startravel-102 AZ-GTe mount with integrated WiFi module creates its own WiFi network, allowing the mount to be used anywhere independently of another existing WiFi network. After entering the coordinates in the app and performing a simpler alignment procedure, you are ready to explore the universe using the intuitive menus of the touchscreen.
The AZ-GTe with the SynScan app is a fully computerized GoTo control that allows you to automatically align the telescope to over 10,000 objects listed in the app's database.
The Startravel 102 is a two-element achromatic air-spaced refractor, very well suited for "Richfield" observation of comets, star fields, star clusters, nebulae, bright galaxies, and planets, as well as the Moon and the Sun (with appropriate and safe filters!).
(Please note that the AZ-GTe mount is identical to the AZ-GTi mount but does not contain a Freedom-Find™ Dual-Axis Encoder)
