Presentation of the new generation of compact German equatorial mounts from iOptron, the GEM28 

Like its predecessors, the GEM28 is designed to be easy to carry, with a weight of only 4.5 kg, it can support a payload of 12.7 kg, resulting in an incredible weight/payload ratio of 2.8. We achieved this result by using design methods developed to reduce the mass of the mount in our CEM mount range. The German EQ versions were created to satisfy consumers who prefer a more traditional mount and to operate at higher latitudes. 

Building on the legacy of previous GEM models, we have added features for more convenience and functionality. A mechanical gear lock engagement system (easy to use even while wearing gloves), integrated Wi-Fi for unparalleled connectivity, and recordable permanent periodic error correction (PPEC) to repeat optimal PEC training sessions. In terms of functionality, the GEM28 offers precise pointing and accurate tracking. The GEM28 sets the new standard for compact German goto equatorial mounts. 

The GEM28 is equipped with the latest advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and precise GOTO mounts available. The library of 212,000 objects ensures that you will never run out of targets to see or photograph. The Go2Nova® remote control is intuitive, and its large 4-line LCD screen simplifies the process of adjusting telescopes and locating objects. 

The GEM28 mount comes with the AccuAlign optical polar finder for quick and easy polar alignment. It comes with a very sturdy Ø 38 mm (1.5") stainless steel tripod and an aluminum transport case.
