The telescope mount:
The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6GT mount is an exciting and scalable development of the successful NEQ6 Pro telescope mount. The AZ-EQ6GT is a fully computerized heavy-duty GoTo mount, usable in two different modes, for astronomy in both altazimuth and equatorial modes.
It includes a SynScan remote control with a special AZ/EQ firmware and can automatically search for and track over 42,900 celestial objects in its database.
In equatorial mode, the AZ-EQ6GT can be used for visual observation as well as precision astrophotography. In altazimuth mode, it is primarily intended for visual observation but can track two telescopes simultaneously in parallel.
The patented dual encoder technology of the AZ-EQ6GT is a major innovation. It allows the telescope to be moved freely by hand in both axes without losing position data. This gives the observer enormous freedom and more comfort and flexibility during observation sessions.
