Binocular telescope for observing the night sky, nature, and landscapes
Admire the beauty of the night sky and observe nature during the day. When the sky is clear at night, make exceptional observations of globular clusters, nebulae, moon craters, and even planets. You can also observe in detail all other distant objects present in nature and the landscape, including boats and airplanes. With the versatile binoculars of the BT series from EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, get up close to the objects you observe. Thanks to the large, bright objectives and advanced lens coatings, this binocular telescope provides clear and bright images at night and during twilight. The 45-degree viewing angle ensures fatigue-free use, even with significant tilting of the binoculars.
A binocular telescope can also be referred to as a double reflector telescope.
Each eye has a complete astronomical telescope with full light-gathering power. Discover a whole new dimension of vision. These binoculars render objects in a very lifelike manner, and observing with both eyes allows for a relaxed viewing experience. Ultimately, this comfortable mode of observation allows for better distinction of the finest details and effectively prevents rapid eye fatigue.
Extremely robust binoculars with magnesium housing, waterproof and nitrogen-filled
The binoculars of the BT series are designed for outdoor use in challenging conditions. The waterproof version according to IPX6 standard and filled with nitrogen effectively prevents internal optical fogging, even in difficult weather conditions. The very lightweight magnesium housing allows for weight savings and facilitates handling.
Two included EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 20 mm eyepieces from the 62-degree LER series
EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC is a long-established manufacturer of very high-quality eyepieces in the world of astronomy. The quality of an optical system always depends on the quality of its weakest component. That’s why we decided to deliver these binocular telescopes with a pair of quality eyepieces from the 62-degree LER series. With an apparent field of view of 62 degrees and a focal length of 20 mm, the BT-82 binoculars produce a magnification of 24x. These wide-angle eyepieces thus provide a very good overview with moderate magnification (field of view of 2.6 degrees). The long eye relief of 15 mm of these LER eyepieces and the soft silicone eyecups also ensure comfortable and relaxed viewing. For astronomy, a flat and sharp field of view up to the edge is an advantage and offers a particularly impressive visual experience, even in daylight. Thanks to their waterproof design and argon filling, these eyepieces are absolutely insensitive and easy to clean.
Interchangeable eyepieces with a 1.25"/31.7 mm insertion diameter
Adjust the magnification and field of view to your individual needs and choose from a wide range of available eyepieces. All types of eyepieces with a 1.25 inch/31.7 mm insertion diameter can be used with the BT series binoculars. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC eyepieces from the 62 and 82-degree series with focal lengths between 8 and 26 mm are particularly recommended (see art. 02188xx and 02196xx). The magnification can thus vary from about 18x to 60x (binocular focal length : eyepiece focal length = magnification). The eyepieces are held in the binoculars by a precise brass clamping ring, ensuring they do not tilt.
Use of color and fog filters for astronomical observations
Increase the contrast and visibility of objects and details by screwing the appropriate filters directly into the threads of the eyepiece holders. Of course, color and fog filters should always be used in pairs. All EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC screw filters with a diameter of 1.25''/31.7 mm are suitable (see Art. 03102xx)
Comfortable 45-degree finder and single focus
The 45-degree finder allows for a relaxed observation position, even when the binoculars are heavily tilted. The individual eye distance can also be adjusted in a range between 54 and 76 mm. The fine helical focusing system allows for precise, simple, and effortless focusing.
Retractable anti-fog caps
The integrated anti-fog caps can be removed in high humidity and cold. This prevents fogging on the outer lenses of the objective and effectively protects against additional stray light coming from outside.
.
Integrated carrying handle
The metal carrying handle placed at the center of gravity allows for easy transport and secure holding when mounting on the tripod.
Suitable tripods and tripod connection
When using these binocular telescopes, it is highly recommended to use a stable photo tripod with corresponding load capacity. The connection is made via two 1/4 inch threaded holes or one 3/8 inch threaded hole (standard thread for photo tripods) located in the foot of the binoculars. Ideally, use the U-mount from EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC with a field tripod, available as an option (Art.0114300). This has been specially designed for the BT series binocular telescopes and securely supports these devices. The precision mechanism with adjustable friction in both axes facilitates adjustment and tracking. Depending on the friction intensity setting, the position of the binoculars remains stable. Vibrations are minimized due to the massive construction of the U-mount and the sufficiently large stainless steel tripod. Even at high magnification, there are no shakes, and it is possible to observe the finest details.
