Celestron’s universal T-adapter allows you to connect a DSLR or SLR camera to a telescope equipped with a 1.25" focuser or eyepiece adapter. The T-thread on top of the universal T-adapter screws into a T-ring (sold separately) designed to attach to your camera’s brand-specific mounting collar. The end of the T-adapter slides into the focuser like an eyepiece and locks in place using the thumbscrew of the focuser or eyepiece adapter.

Usage

Focusing at the prime focus is popular for short exposure images of terrestrial objects as well as celestial objects like the Moon.

Note

Please note that some telescopes, particularly “fast” refractors and most Newtonians, may not have enough focus travel to allow the photographic image to be focused when used in prime focus mode. In these cases, we recommend using the universal Barlow & T adapter (#93640), which will double the magnification but allow the telescope to reach focus.
