The lightweight model among high-performance binoculars

With the ZEISS SFL (SmartFocus Lightweight) binoculars, experience special moments with ease. Optimized to be as light as compact, the SFL binoculars perfectly complement the SF range. The new Ultra High Definition (UHD) concept guarantees realistic color rendering and the highest level of detail. With its SmartFocus concept, the focus wheel is perfectly positioned and allows for quick and precise focusing, even while wearing gloves. The optimized ergonomics and a large exit pupil provide a relaxed and calm viewing experience.

With a field of view of up to 140 meters at a distance of 1,000 meters and a close focus distance of 1.5 meters, the SFL 8x40 model offers a perfect overview combined with precise detail distinction. The lens diameter has been reduced by 2 mm, allowing the use of thinner and closer lens elements, thus reducing the weight of the binoculars by up to 20% and their volume by up to 13% compared to the ZEISS Victory SF models. Consequently, the SFL binoculars are up to 30% lighter than comparable products from competitors.

 The lightweight yet robust magnesium housing also enhances durability and longevity for generations to come. The smaller lens diameter allowed us to use thinner lens elements that can be arranged closer together. At the same time, the SFL binoculars offer perfect image quality despite the incredible reduction in weight and volume.

The Ultra High Definition (UHD) concept includes a special coating and an improved optical design that ensure the binoculars provide the level of detail and reproduce colors with natural fidelity. This allows for precise determination of the smallest elements of plumage and reliable species distinction. 

SmartFocus concept for intuitive and precise handling

The SmartFocus concept allows for quick and precise focusing without having to spread your fingers. The perfectly positioned focus wheel in the DoubleLink Bridge offers the best level of ergonomics in operation, requiring only 1.4 turns from close focus to infinity and is likely to be turned accurately even while wearing gloves.

90% light transmission

With 90% light transmission and the ZEISS T* multi-coating, you can clearly and precisely recognize details, allowing you to capture all moments, even in dark environments. 

Comfortable viewing experience

The perfect ergonomics of the ZEISS SFL models allow for quick and easy positioning of the eyes and also provide comfortable and immersive viewing thanks to the large exit pupil. Additionally, the improved eyecups offer even better ergonomics and a smooth transition between the precisely defined contact points that can be perfectly reached.

ZEISS T* coating

The ZEISS T* coating guarantees bright images with high contrast that you will experience especially under unfavorable low-light conditions and at dusk. However, there is no specific formula behind it for developing the layers. Instead, it is a constantly adjusted technology to meet the new glass materials and the varying requirements from lens to lens.
