Wide field of view

With many eyepiece models, you generally have to sacrifice a sharp image at the edges of the field if you want a wide field of view. Or vice versa, if you want very sharp images at the edges, you will find that the best images come from eyepieces with a slightly narrow field of view.
Here is the Orion 15mm Ultra Flat Field Telescope Eyepiece. With a generous apparent field of view of 65°, this eyepiece offers 25% more field of view than a Plössl eyepiece while providing a fantastic image from center to edge.

Increases contrast

The Ultra Flat Field eyepieces are fully multi-coated to maximize light transmission to your eyes, as well as blackened on the edges of their lenses to minimize light scattering inside and increase contrast. And with a generous eye relief of 16 mm, you will be able to see the entire field of view, even while wearing glasses.

Standardized

This Ultra Flat Field eyepiece with ultra-flat field of 10 mm fits all 31.5 mm (1.25") focusers, or a 50.8 mm (2") focuser with a 31.7 mm (2"-1.25") adapter. It features foldable rubber eyecups to avoid scratching your glasses and to ensure a comfortable feel when observing through the eyepiece. The 31.7 mm barrel is threaded to accept standard telescope filters and comes with protective caps.
