Flat field

The Edge-On planetary eyepieces from Orion deliver flat-field performance for solar system observation in the form of medium and high magnification focal lengths. Each eyepiece uses a sophisticated 7-element lens design reminiscent of complex and expensive eyepieces. This design allows for a perfectly flat image, with precise focus from center to edge of the wide apparent field of view of 55 degrees. Barrel distortion and field curvature aberrations, common in standard eyepieces, have virtually disappeared.

Pushing the magnification

The Orion Edge-On planetary eyepieces allow you to push the power, whether to probe the lunar terminator or study the jovian cloud belts. The optics are fully multi-coated for high light transmission, and each eyepiece has a 20 mm eye relief for better viewing comfort. Other interesting details include blackened lens edges, foldable rubber eyecups, and 1.25" threaded tubes for filters.
