Vixen | Apochromat SD103S

The Vixen SD103S is a new high-performance super-ED apochromat that impresses with its great sharpness, contrast, and color purity.

Standard "photo-visual" SD apochromatic refractor from Vixen with a focal length of 625mm. Vixen's SD apochromatic refractors are equipped with "Super extra-low Dispersion" optical glass in their objective. Using an SD HD reducer kit or an SD HD flattener, you achieve an image circle of 44 mm in diameter for photography with full-frame DSLR cameras.

The objectives of refractor telescopes exhibit chromatic aberration caused by the focusing of different wavelengths of visible light (colors) at different distances.

The Vixen SD lenses, made from FPL53 glass with very low dispersion, allow for the correction of chromatic aberration across a wide spectrum of light. The SD optics focus the visible light rays Cray (red), D-ray (yellow), E-ray (green), F-ray (blue) to G-ray (violet) almost at the same position.

As shown by the spherical aberration diagrams, chromatic aberration is strongly corrected over a wide spectrum of light with the SD lenses. In particular, the G-ray, which affects image contrast, is excellently suppressed.

The SD103S provides images of exceptional sharpness with high contrast for visual and photographic applications. The brighter F7.7 images will satisfy the most demanding visual astronomers or astrophotographers.
