This compact Field-Maksutov-Cassegrain system is a response to all SC instruments as the optical properties and overall design have been perfected. The corrector lens is, for example, located directly in front of the secondary mirror. 

As a result, the Field-Maksutov instrument can do without the correction plate at the entrance of the telescope, which even at low humidity quickly becomes fogged. The long focal length allows for detailed observation of planets, distant galaxies, lunar craters, or lunar mountains, as well as many other celestial bodies.

The open system allows for faster cooling of the optics, making it ready to use more quickly.
