The NexStar Evolution is the first Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with built-in WiFi. Leave your manual control behind and swipe to all the best celestial objects with a simple touch of your smartphone or tablet. Connect your device to the NexStar Evolution's built-in wireless network and explore the universe with the Celestron mobile app for iOS and Android.
Use the planetarium interface to visualize the night sky in real-time or display a list of currently visible celestial objects based on the time and location you are in. Our SkyAlign alignment procedure is integrated into the Celestron mobile app, allowing you to be ready to observe in minutes.
The most user-friendly telescope ever designed
Celestron engineers designed the NexStar Evolution based on years of feedback. It offers many well-thought-out design features that come together to provide you with the best possible experience under the stars.
Forget batteries or external power supplies. For the first time on a consumer telescope, the NexStar Evolution integrates its own battery. With this long-lasting lithium iron phosphate battery, you can enjoy star-gazing marathons for up to 10 hours on a single charge. You can even use the NexStar Evolution's USB charging port to recharge other devices in your life that need to stay powered during an observing session. An intelligent power management system detects low battery levels and switches to power-saving mode to keep your telescope running as long as possible.
Setting up your NexStar Evolution is quick and easy thanks to the large ergonomic handles. The all-metal tripod features a metal accessory tray with indentations for storing and transporting the tripod. During setup, the engravings on the legs help you achieve a uniform height for your telescope. The manual clutches in altitude and azimuth provide greater flexibility for manually orienting the telescope when it is powered off. Store up to 7 eyepieces in 2 accessory trays, one of which is equipped with an adjustable red LED illuminator.
Superior tracking for astrophotography
If you're interested in astrophotography, the NexStar Evolution 9.25 inches is an excellent affordable way to get started. It is the only fork telescope in its price range that offers brass worm gears as well as improved motors. The tracking accuracy of the NexStar Evolution is so impressive that you can capture images of deep-sky objects like the Orion Nebula by simply attaching your digital SLR camera. As you progress in the field of astrophotography, you can add our HD Pro wedge to achieve longer exposures for more detailed astrophotos. The NexStar Evolution is compatible with the wedge when used with the CPC tripod (sold separately).
Of course, the Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system provides clear, sharp views thanks to the StarBright XLT coatings, making it an ideal choice for visual observers and budding astrophotographers.
The NexStar Evolution is equipped with 4 auxiliary ports - 2 on top of the fork and 2 on the bottom. A classic NexStar+ hand control is included but is not necessary when using NexStar Evolution with the mobile app. The telescope also includes a StarPointer finder, two 1.25" Plossl eyepieces, a 1.25" star diagonal, and a power adapter.
