Sky-Watcher | Color CMOS camera SynCam 585C

Designed for advanced astrophotography enthusiasts, the new Sky-Watcher SynCam 585C is a compact color CMOS camera with passive cooling, offering a resolution of 8.3 megapixels. It features the highly regarded Sony IMX585 sensor, with square pixels of 2.9 μm.

Its primary use is dedicated to high-resolution planetary photography, as well as photography of the Sun and Moon's surface. Thanks to the very low read noise and the absence of glow phenomenon from its sensor, it is also suitable for deep sky astrophotography, especially for starting to capture galaxies and nebulae. Image stacking techniques (stacking) or live stacking (live stacking) allow for detailed and low-noise images with compatible software.

With its compact design, light weight, and small diameter, the SynCam 585C pairs perfectly with the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Honders Minigraph. Using a larger camera could indeed lead to overloading or partially obstructing the telescope's aperture. Its black finish also helps to minimize unwanted reflections.

The SynCam 585C is fully compatible with the software ecosystem of ToupTek Astronomy Inc. and supported by numerous applications dedicated to acquisition and control in astrophotography.
