The design of the Maksutov Newton telescope combines the best features of Newtonian reflectors and Maksutov Cassegrain telescopes. This optical design impresses with stunning image quality and offers contrast-rich, perfectly flat images free of color fringing.

The design of the Maksutov Newton telescope provides a large aperture with apochromatic performance, featuring exceptional field correction, in a compact tube at an surprisingly low price. Stars are represented as pinpricks across the entire field. Perfectly optimized for modern DSLR cameras. Five diaphragms inserted into the tube eliminate distracting internal reflections and enhance contrast.

Compared to similar Schmidt Newtons with identical or larger apertures, the Skywatcher Maksutov Newton produces much sharper and more contrasty images. Photographically, as well as visually.
