The Sky-Watcher Skymax-127 Maksutov Cassegrain telescope is a larger version of the Skymax-102 and offers a remarkably increased light-gathering power of 55%, representing a new improvement over its smaller sibling for medium and high magnification observations.
The telescope mount:
The Sky-Watcher HERITAGE-150P (VIRTUOSO GTi) mount, easily transportable, has been specially designed for wireless use via WiFi with your smartphone or tablet using the free SynScan App for iOS or Android. The Virtuoso GTi mount, with its built-in WiFi module, creates its own WiFi network, allowing the mount to be used anywhere without needing to access another WiFi network or a mobile network. After entering your coordinates in the app and performing a simple alignment procedure, you are ready to explore the universe using the intuitive menus of the app's touchscreen.
The Virtuoso GTi and the SynScan app form a fully computerized GoTo control that automatically aligns the telescope to any object in the vast database of over 10,000 celestial objects contained in the app. The telescope incorporates Sky-Watcher's patented Freedom-Find™ Dual-Encoder technology, which also allows you to move the telescope manually without losing previously recorded position information. This allows for more comfortable, flexible, and easier observation.
