The Meade ACF 203 mm (8") f/10 LX85 optical tube offers a large aperture in a very compact format. Designed to be portable and lightweight, it features a Vixen-style dovetail mounted at the bottom of the tube that allows it to be attached to any compatible Vixen mount.

The Advanced Coma-Free ACF Optics

Meade's patented Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) optical design allows for coma-free star images and flatter image fields, which are sought after by discerning amateur astronomers, astrophotographers, and professional observatories. This ACF system also reduces astigmatism and eliminates diffraction spikes.

The glass elements of the ACF primary, secondary, and corrector optics are made in the USA exclusively for Meade.

This telescope also features ultra-high transmission coatings (UHTC). The UHTC are specialized multi-coatings that are precisely designed to enhance the performance of your telescope's optics. You will see brighter star clusters, finer details in nebulae, and additional surface features on planets. On average, across the entire visible spectrum, the total light transmission at the focal plane increases by 15%.

Features

The optical features include an 8" (203 mm) aperture, a focal length of 2032 mm, and a focal ratio of f/10. The single-speed internal focus allows for precise focus control, and the UHTC coatings provide impressive views of brighter star clusters, finer details in nebulae, and more significant surface features on planets. Includes a 26 mm Super Plössl eyepiece of 1.25" and an 8x50 optical finder. With the included accessories, the optical tube weighs 5.2 kg (11.5 lbs) and its dimensions are 460 mm long x 250 mm in diameter.
